Sound
As a multi-instrumentalist, I view sound as a pathway to the Divine, to connect with that which lives within us and all around us. To use sound as an expression to heal, uplift, celebrate, connect, and ultimately, serve.
One of the main paths taken through me is Kirtan, the powerful practice of call-and-response chanting from India. Considered “the yoga of the heart” and part of Bhakti yoga, Krishna Das defines this ancient science as “falling in love with love”.
In addition to leading kirtan, I’ve had the opportunity to co-create improvised soundscapes alongside poets, speakers, sound healers, and private yoga instructors. What I enjoy about this medium is the mutual discovery of creative ways to support each other. And, how to push the limits of how sound is used.
